Privacy Notice — please read before you submit
This notice summarises how we handle your personal information. It applies wherever you provide information on this Site, including when you register to attend, apply to volunteer or exhibit, register a hackathon team, submit a partnership enquiry, or make a giving commitment.
We only collect what we need for the activity you are completing, use it to process your submission and send you related updates, and share it only with the Faith and Tech, Covenant Nation Ikeja and HOTHUB team members and service providers who need it to act on your submission. We do not sell your information.
Ticking the required consent box confirms you agree to this notice, the full Policy below, and the event Terms and Conditions where applicable. You may ask us to access, correct, delete or stop using your information, or withdraw any optional marketing consent, at any time by contacting info@faithandtechconf.com or support@faithandtechconf.com.

Introduction and scope
This Privacy Policy explains how The Covenant Nation Ikeja (“we”, “us”, “Covenant Nation Ikeja”), as organiser of the Faith and Tech Conference 2026 (“Faith and Tech”, “the Conference”), collects, uses, shares and protects personal information gathered through www.faithandtechconf.com and its related registration, hackathon, partnership, exhibition, volunteer and giving pages (together, “the Site”).
This Policy is written to align with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (“NDPA”) and general international good practice, given that some participants may access the Site from outside Nigeria.
This Policy is the full statement of our data practices. The boxed notice at the top of this page is a short-form summary, intended to be read at the point you provide your information on the Site, for example by following the “privacy notice” link from the consent checkbox on a registration or application form directly to that summary. Where any inconsistency arises between the summary and the rest of this Policy, this Policy prevails.
Who we are
Data controllers: The Covenant Nation Ikeja and TCN Global, who act as joint controllers of personal information collected through the Site. TCN Global is the church body known as The Covenant Nation; the Faith and Tech Conference is a programme of HOTHUB, a ministry of TCN Global rather than a separately incorporated entity. Covenant Nation Ikeja hosts this 2026 edition of the Conference under the CCWA-TCN Ikeja Project account. References in this Policy to “we”, “us” and “Covenant Nation Ikeja” include TCN Global acting in its capacity as joint controller.

Personal information we collect
We collect information directly from you when you complete a form on the Site. No form is designed to collect more information than the corresponding activity needs. The forms on the Site, and the information each one collects, are set out below.
Attendee registration (“Register to Attend”): (a) full name, email address and phone number; (b) city and state of residence; (c) church campus or organisation, if applicable; (d) current path (for example, student, professional, founder or technology practitioner) and current role, profession or area of interest; (e) how you heard about the Conference; and (f) your consent choices, being agreement to receive essential event updates, agreement to the Terms and Conditions and this Policy, and an optional opt-in to future Faith and Tech updates.
Hackathon team and idea registration: (a) team lead details, being full name, email, phone number, city or location, and preferred contact method; (b) for each additional team member (team size two to five members in total, including the lead), full name, email, phone number, role and a short note on relevant skills; (c) idea and project details you choose to submit, including the problem statement, proposed solution, and links to a prototype, deck or repository, noting that this may itself contain personal information if you name individuals in it; and (d) how you heard about the hackathon and your consent choices.
Partnership enquiry: (a) full name, role or title, email and phone number; (b) business or organisation name, if applicable; and (c) the area and type of support you wish to offer, your intended contribution, and your preferred contact method.
Exhibition application: (a) business name, website or social media link, and business category; (b) primary contact name, role or title, email and phone number, and the names of on-site representatives; and (c) operational details such as equipment, electricity requirements and, for food vendors, menu details, together with an optional logo or product images you upload.
Volunteer application: (a) full name, email and phone number; (b) role, profession or relevant skills, and preferred service areas; and (c) availability, interest in post-conference volunteering, and T-shirt size.
Giving commitment form: (a) full name, email and phone number; (b) whether you give as an individual, family, business or church group; (c) what you would like to support, your intended amount, and your giving rhythm (one-time, weekly or monthly); and (d) an optional note or prayer request, and your consent to be contacted about your gift. This form records your giving intention only. It does not process a payment or store any bank card or account details; gifts are made separately by bank transfer using the account details published on the Give page.
Information collected automatically: like most websites, the Site may automatically collect limited technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, and how you arrived at the Site, typically through cookies or similar technologies used for security, basic analytics, and remembering your progress across the multi-step forms. See the Cookies section below.
How we use your information
We use the personal information described above to: (a) process and confirm your registration, hackathon entry, volunteer application, exhibition application, partnership enquiry or giving commitment; (b) send confirmation emails and essential updates about the Conference, including schedule, venue and logistics changes; (c) route your enquiry to the correct internal team, using addresses such as registrations@faithandtechconf.com, hackathon@faithandtechconf.com, partner@faithandtechconf.com, csr@faithandtechconf.com and support@faithandtechconf.com; (d) coordinate hackathon judging, volunteer placement, exhibitor allocation and partnership follow-up; (e) acknowledge and follow up on giving commitments, without processing any payment ourselves; (f) send you optional future updates about Faith and Tech, but only where you have separately opted in; (g) maintain the security of the Site and prevent spam or fraudulent submissions; and (h) understand overall attendance and engagement so that we can improve future events.
Our legal basis for processing
Depending on the activity, we rely on one or more of the following: (a) consent, for optional marketing updates and for the required consent checkboxes on each form, which you may withdraw at any time; (b) performance of a request you made, to register you, process your application or respond to your enquiry; (c) legitimate interests, to run the Conference safely and effectively, prevent misuse of our forms, and follow up on giving commitments, balanced against your rights; and (d) compliance with a legal obligation, where record-keeping is required, for example for CSR project reporting or safeguarding at the Remand Home training initiative.
Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where necessary, with: (a) members of the Faith and Tech, Covenant Nation Ikeja and HOTHUB teams who need it to carry out the activity you signed up for, for example the hackathon or volunteer coordination team; (b) service providers who help us run the Site and its forms, such as website hosting, email delivery and form-processing providers, acting only on our instructions; (c) speakers, mentors or partner organisations directly involved in an activity you applied for, for example hackathon judges reviewing your team’s submission, limited to what they need; and (d) regulators, law enforcement or professional advisers where we are required to by law, or to protect the rights, safety or property of our organisation, attendees or the public.
Where we engage a third-party payment or ticketing provider in future, for example if a card-payment or QR-based giving option is added, that provider will process payment details directly under its own privacy notice, and this Policy will be updated to name it before that feature goes live.
International data transfers
The Conference is based in Lagos, Nigeria, and most attendees, volunteers, exhibitors and partners are expected to be based in Nigeria. However, some participants may register from outside Nigeria, and some of our service providers, for example cloud hosting or email delivery tools, may store information on servers outside Nigeria. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure the provider offers an appropriate standard of protection consistent with the NDPA, such as contractual safeguards, before information is transferred.
How long we keep your information
(a) Attendee registration details are retained for 12 months after the Conference for follow-up communication, unless you ask us to delete them sooner; (b) hackathon records are retained for 24 months after the Conference, to cover the post-hackathon product-launch guidance given to winning teams; (c) exhibition records are retained for 12 months after the Conference; (d) partnership records are retained for 24 months after the Conference, to cover the ongoing sponsor relationship; (e) volunteer applications are retained while you remain part of the active volunteer pool, and in any event for no longer than 24 months without further engagement from you; (f) giving commitment records are retained for 6 years, in line with standard practice for financial record-keeping; and (g) marketing opt-ins are retained until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent. After the applicable period, we securely delete or anonymise the information unless we are required to keep it for longer by law.
Cookies and similar technologies
The Site is hosted on the faithandtechconf.com domain and may use cookies or similar local-storage technologies to keep multi-step forms working correctly, remember your progress, and understand how the Site is used. Where analytics or marketing cookies are used, we will provide a cookie banner or settings option allowing you to accept or decline non-essential cookies, in line with applicable guidance.
How we protect your information
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the personal information submitted through the Site, including restricting access to registration data to team members who need it, using reputable, access-controlled form and hosting providers, and applying basic spam and abuse protection, such as CAPTCHA or its equivalent, on public-facing forms. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information to an appropriate standard.
Photography, video and livestream
The Conference may be photographed, filmed or livestreamed for reporting, promotional and archival purposes. By attending, you may appear in general event footage or photographs. If you would prefer not to be featured, please let a member of the Faith and Tech team know on the day, and we will take reasonable steps to accommodate your request. This is separate from, and does not affect, the personal information you submit through the Site’s forms.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, including the NDPA, you may have the right to: (a) access the personal information we hold about you; (b) correct inaccurate or incomplete information; (c) request deletion of your information, subject to any legal or legitimate reason we may have to keep it; (d) withdraw consent at any time, including by unsubscribing from optional updates using the link in any marketing email or by contacting us directly; (e) object to, or request that we restrict, certain processing of your information; and (f) lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission, or another relevant supervisory authority, if you believe your information has been mishandled.

Children’s information
Participants in the hackathon and the volunteer programme must be at least 14 years old. Where a participant is under 18, we require the name, relationship and contact details of a parent or guardian, and their consent, before we process the participant’s information. Outside the hackathon and volunteer programme, the Site and its other forms are intended for adults. If you believe a child’s information has been provided to us without appropriate parental or guardian consent, please contact us so that we can address it.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time, for example as our website, forms or service providers change. The “Last updated” date at the top of this Policy will reflect the most recent revision. Where changes are significant, we will take reasonable steps to bring them to your attention, such as a notice on the Site.
